Every morning I start my day off with one of these green glowing beauties. Thanks to a crazy health mis-diagnosis I experience a lot of pain and struggle daily. The one thing I force myself to do is juice. I have found that my diet plays a big role in the way my body works and feels.
During a health crisis healthy eating is key, but at times you must take the next step. I began watching documentaries on my sick days to pass time and learn about wellness. I began with Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead featuring Joe Cross and Crazy, Sexy, Cancer featuring the story of Kris Carr. Their stories inspired me to look beyond everything I tried before and look at how I use food.
I’ve been told by many this is gross, extreme and just plain weird but let me tell you about why this is an important key is unlocking my return to health.
One word, Acid, no not the trippy kind, the kind that creates illness in a human. Acids occur naturally, the by-products of respiration, cellular breakdown, metabolism and exercise. Not to mention the host of acidic foods that are consumed in the traditional American diet. Just to name a few, alcohol, refined grains, sugar, soda, chemicals from pesticide, medication and preservatives…shall I keep going? It’s super easy to become acidic, not so much on the alkaline.
What happens? Well anyone who knows about a fish in an aquarium knows about Ph, Acidity and Alkalinity. PH too high? Sick Fish! An acid environment in the body is a breeding ground for bad bacteria, yeast and fungi. Check your urine to find out with litmus paper strips sold online, they are pretty accurate.
Acidity over a long period of time saps the minerals from your body, leading to osteoporosis and weak teeth and bones.
Enzymes are another big factor…up to 95% of your body funtion depends on enzymes! We get them from food but much of the time we cook it first and kill them, sad fact! Raw food is a great source of enzymes!
The long and short is this, reducing the the acid that creates the free radicals that make us sick is the best way to fight illness without drugs.
I for one did my run with meds and know far too well the side efects and toxicity it creates. I said goodbye to that and said hello green juice and have not looked back!

Today I would like to share my Glowing Green Juice recipe with you.
- 2 pc. Organic Kale
- Handful of Organic Spinach
- 1 head of Organic Romaine Lettuce
- A Slice of Ginger
- 2 Lemons, peeled
- ½ an Organic Cucumber
- One Organic Apple, or 2 if you prefer a sweeter juice
- 4 Organic Carrots
- A handful of Fresh Parsley
- Wash everything well, if it is not organic, peel it to clean it up.
- Then cut into slices or cubes , some leafy things just go right in and the auger pulls it through.
