Taking Ownership

Discipleship, that everyone is trained to be like Our Teacher, to be realized as each member experiences progressive transformation in the image of Christ (as the Word says).
My statement of faith: Consider it done
Integrity is the commitment to do what is right regardless of the circumstances.
You cannot straddle integrity. The are on either one side or the other and must be consistently so, there is no hidden agenda, no political games.
To solve problems we can use a model.
Write down these three things:
  • The problem as you perceive it
  • The impact it has on you
  • What you want to accomplish, your desired end state.
Next:
  • Why do you think the problem exists?
  • List potential solutions
Follow up weekly, 10 minute review, clarify priorities and expectations.
Own the statements in BOLD
No matter what – accept responsibility and move forward.
And then some – I give what is expected and then some
Consider it done – I am consistent and dependable
Above all else – I will adhere to my values
From now on – I learn from my mistakes and welcome change
Young people need adults who through actions and attitudes tell them that they matter.
In the Kingdom everybody is a somebody. Personal relationships are the key to nurturing young people into adults who reflect their full potential in Christ.
In adolescence, young ones are in desperate need of adults to encourage them as they develop emotionally, physically and spiritually.
Jesus is the Master Teacher, as His followers we are a “fellowship of His students”.
Mutual servanthood-in this we love one another, look out for the best interest of each other, confront one another and encourage one another. As we submit to one another we assist each other in becoming more like Christ.
We are called to shape a community with the goal of Mentoring steps can only play out and are best accomplished within the boundaries of community. This gives a group example of lives that live out positive examples and values.
Mentors “live out” within a community and provide also a collective example of what it means to be a Christlike adult. We are called to shape a community marked by growing commitment of every member to Christ and to others.
The community of people calling themselves Christians needs to self examine themselves before the Word of God preferably with an accountability partner, a sibling in the faith farther along. We are told to test and see if we are in the faith. 2 Cor. 13:5
The Remnant, the church which makes up the Bride of Christ needs to awaken.
To realize and take seriously it’s responsibility to minister faith to young people and new believers within itself. Members need to provide without judgement or offense; love, support and encouragement.
Adult members can get a criminal history report here http://www.psp.pa.gov/Pages/Request-a-Criminal-History-Record.aspx for a minimal fee and plenty of reassurances. This protects the youth and presents to parents and guardians as due process on the part of the mentor.
People need and kids especially need:
Someone to talk to
Someone to say, you matter to me
Someone to challenge them to do their best
Someone who takes them seriously
Someone who doesn’t judge them
Someone who respects them
Someone who accepts them
Someone who understands them
Someone to laugh with them
Someone to be serious with them
Someone who cares
Someone who prays

Identity in Christ begins at the Cross. We come to a place where we can no longer bear the weight of our actions and deeds. We ask God to forgive us in knowledge of Jesus as Lord and Savior . We must ask for help and turn from our bondage to flesh. In the light of the study of God’s Word, I realize it is a choice to seek Him.
I came to know the Lord by studying His Way with “His ones” (disciples). His parables, His Words, His command of the moment. He froze life on each lesson and dug to the deepest chasm of the broken heart. He rules with gentleness and justice. Everything is neutralized to be in line with our Creator. Through Christ Jesus, I AM becomes the unthinkable, unfathomable, my mind does not go that far to fully comprehend or understand God, Elohim, The master of the Universe. He is Creator, Abba, the Parent of all Parents, the Infinite, the Absolute, Perfect, Most High and Holy God. I rest me in the thought that He knows my name. He formed me in the secret place, in the depths you ordained my days, numbered my hairs. To think of the attentiveness of all of that and He offers it all to all, whosoever in endless supply.
Oh how great this love that He so freely will broadcast in our hearts if we allow Him to. We owe it to one another to obey love. He keeps a record of us and we should fear that.

The Day I Stopped Running

img_4191
Singular Marla, in Jesus my Lord. I find this place and I wait on you my Abba.
The parallels of believer versus unbeliever are distinct. They are apparent. They clash.
I do not fear it, rather I have come to expect it, expect a challenge not a struggle. I am never ever aware enough to foretell or see. I do not seek to do that, but abide in this infinite mystery of a moment in time, in Jesus. Each moment is His alone.
Moments become years, years have a way of stealing. Presence of mind is necessary to be rightly filled.
Our heads are space, what parts to we rent out to utter nonsense and lies. I want to experience Jesus,  just you Lord.
Perfection and Grace embodied. Fierce Righteousness. Full Armor of God. Not superior but known-transparency and presence.
The critical world will criticize but when their voices become nonsense and are emptied of power to us. We can no longer be moved from our position, literally it is that power that transcends and guards our minds in Christ Jesus Our Lord. (Phil. 4:7)
The helmet of salvation placed over us until we are complete. Continues over our lifetime.  We bow to accept the crown of joy bestowed to us in Jesus name. But if our life is not for Him and His Will and His purpose then what kind of crown will it be? Satan offers us a counterfeit one. Be king now he says. He will distract you with things that truly don’t matter, then at sum, you lose.
Wrong investments. Your imagination and pride misled you and in the Kingdom of God there are no alter egos, none will enter.
One life, one face, One Word to this world is all we get.
Is our life as individual beings rooted in the life of Christ? For the times that are coming we are going to be called to diligent faith in time of trial and hardship.
Our dependence will either be in the system or in Christ. Remember God is frustrating the wisdom of this world, He will show another way but you may be decieved.
If you ask Christ to indwell in you do not resist Him. Fully embrace His calls to faith, step forward and ask questions. In this classroom of life it pays to raise your hand.
God asks us not to test Him but TRY Him, be led by this faith. It is hard at first, it is mindset, but mind over matter always.
We are not defined by circumstances but by heart, every crisis reveals that. Can we trust in the things of earth if it in it’s present form is passing away? Immortality indeed is the goal and is only in Jesus. The minds of science, medicine and engineering are counterfitting this and you must live wise and in the Spirit of the Lord to avoid it.
We are in lowly bodies, Jesus will not counterfit healing but Satan will. IN Jesus He has ALL power and control to change our bodies into glorious ones at HIS coming. (Phil. 3:37)
Root your life in the Lord of Hosts and wait for Him to move. This world is going at breakneck speed to go nowhere, all is a means to an end.
A local man died this week. He was not young, not old, just humble, doing what he did all of his life and very suddenly it was over.
A vapor and a mist. Dust in the wind. Spirit and Truth is all that remains.
I love you, your soul. I am praying for you who reads this to come to a greater knowledge of this Grace that is so available and ready. He who believes, whosoever you may be. KNow His blessing. In Jesus name. Amen.
Love, Marla

Spiritual Notes

22730060_1471092106342204_3540006143727226491_n
Today I woke up early and the arguments here began. Some days I just want to crawl back in bed. But this I call to mind, the reminder that all of this was overcome and I can rest in Him.
Yes, reading Ephesians, I am God’s Possession, by Christ I am kept by Him. The fullness of Christ in me. Hallelujah, no day is ever ordinary but one of challenge and we are given hearts that love a challenge, how beautiful is the story of Hope.
We are born mortal and anyone witnessing a tantrum froma  child that wants it’s own way can reflect on the nature of which I speak. Adults in same fit is just plan ugly. Seeing it on TV makes me ashamed to be lumped in with them. But how I pity the blindness that mars their vision of life.
The Word of God tell us that the sin nature is gratified by our cravings, is under law, is an object of wrath reaping destruction with every breath. It is contrary to the Spirit of God and  it is essentially a disease. God is the only healer, man can temper and medicate it but it all will end badly without the grace and peace of our Lord.
The nature of man is impure and greedy, is immoral in it’s sex nature, easily perverted prone to debauchery which is reveling in excessive indulgences, reaps a loss of virtue.
It leans toward idolatry of self and things created, witchcraft, use of spells and spirits. It is hateful, has dischord in it, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambitions that tread on others, dissentions (disagreements), factions (groups of organized dissenters *politics). Right there we see envy, drunkeness and orgies (parties with indulgences of all kinds), obscene talking, coarse joking and foolish talk.  All of this comes via our thoughts and desires, which God sees as futile thinking and dark understanding, they are the one separated by their own ignorance and hard hearts. We are told to never be envious or conceited. Hello? Can you see our leaders leading this way? I do not. They do all of this and more.
When the Spirit comes He is conflict as the mortal sin nature and the Spirit are contrary to one another. The struggle ensues.
The Holy Spirit of God brings love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control  and patience, is humble and bears all things in love. The Spirit brings sensitive where the human nature is sensual. It builds others up and does not offend God. The Spiritual human belongs to God and in Christ crucifies the mortal nature, is a long and painful process. The Spirit is not under law for Jesus is the law summed, the ethics and morals of His Kingdom will rule forevermore.  IN the Spirit a new man is birthed who is reconciled to God.
From Ephesians, “And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.”
We fear nothing.
So as partakers of this nature we have nothing to do with fruitless deeds of darkness but rather we expose them. We are told be very careful, live wise lives, be filled with the Spirit, speak in psalms, sing hymns and make music in your heart to God always and submit to one another.
I will close with words from Psalm 130…

If you, Lord, kept a record of sins,
Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness,
So that we can, with reverence, serve you. I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.

All of my hope and I hope today you can too dear reader.

I love you,

Marla

Seeking Peter

peter
The day the Lord was crucified goes down is history as one of the most barbaric acts.  An innocent man publicly humiliated and murdered as a criminal. What an offense to Humanity. But what His death did is the hinge of our faith. Jesus’s hallmark is tenderness. Always was and always will be.
Peter knew the Lord, when asked by Jesus “who am I” Peter said, “You are the Messiah, the Son of God”. So when the Lord foreknew Peter would deny Him, it was Peter who was full of disbelief. Waking on water, Peter fell in when he doubted. I confess we have things in common.
The Lord prayed for Peter,  But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”
Jesus saw through people, through the skin to the soul and it’s weak places.
Jesus knew Peter far better than Peter knew Peter. He knows us all that way. Nothing is news to Him. Your deepest darkest secret is known. He is unfazed, knows the heart of man is wicked beyond cure. He is the only cure for carnality. Human nature to “run the show” has been around since the Genesis of man. Taking it upon self to do rather than acknowledging we make foolish mistakes that simply asking God could have prevented.
He has to let us learn, hence consequence.
Peter’s consequence was his very best friend, who he betrayed, knew he betrayed him, they exchanged a look over it. It was known.
Do you know how Jesus felt? It is not a nice feeling. He and I have discussed it many times.
Peter thought Jesus was dead, He believed in his broken heart ,it was over.
By the time the third day came, the women went to the tomb. The angels sat in the empty tomb,  and they specifically asked for Peter. When I read that I wondered why.
Then we move to my favorite piece of scripture in John. I read it over and over and over. When Jesus is walking with Peter grilling him about lamb care it dawned on me.
He was reinstating him, restoring his faith and coming alongside to get Peter to take accountability for his own life and conduct.
The rules of the Kingdom mirror nothing of this world.
In a generation of what the world calls toxicity, the people we run out of our lives. Pastors say “let them walk”.
I say what does snatching from fire look like?
Toxic people are normally angry. society can be cold, much anger is unresolved. When are we as people going to be brave enough to do the right things. Only you can stop offenses. Obey Jesus please. Stop giving up on people. What about love?
Love can build a bridge. It is time indeed. Prayer is our power.

Jesus prayed this the night before He was crucified, it stands as a spoken prayer, still pending. ..He waits

““My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message,  that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.  I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one-  I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”
